TEXTILE TREATMENTS
II. Adhesion Promotion -
The basic treatments employed as prime coats and cover coats for adhesion of rubber to textile include:
- 1. RFL dips -
- a. Neoprene - for chloroprene and chlorbutyl rubber
- b. Nitrile - for NBR, SBR
- c. SB Vinylpyridine - for SBR, EPDM, butyl
Substrates include: Nylon (scoured and heat set), various fabric weights and polyester,
cotton and Polyester.
- 2. Polymer/resin
- for adhesion to fluoroelastomers,
Subtrate: Nylon, Kevlar
Subtrate: Nylon, Kevlar .
- 3. Specialty adhesives on request -
- high or low-tack modifications, acrylic, urethane, natural rubber.
